Old Money, New Face
Pencil on paper 32 x 46”
New York’s iconic old Greek paper coffee cup. An old favourite of mine, this is the third time I’ve drawn this cup - I can’t get enough. This time paired with a page torn from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby - the roaring 20’s classic about a man with conspicuous amount of wealth. We have old traditions, old literature, new money and some little lady hoping to put all of it to good use. New lips perhaps.
Commissioned for a plastic surgeon’s office on the Upper East Side of Manhattan; I give you “Old Money, New Face”
